Raise3D to Launch Open-Test for Hyper FFF™ Technology for Pro2 Series

Mar 30, 2023

In an unwavering commitment to enhance productivity, Raise3D continues to add value to its customer base.

Rotterdam, The Netherlands – Raise3D, a leading manufacturer of 3D printers and printing solutions, is excited to announce the release of Hyper FFF™ technology for Raise3 Pro2 Series printers. The Pro2 Series was Raise3D’s flagship product from early 2018 to late 2020, and have one of the largest installed customer bases of the Professional segment in the world.

In November 2022, Raise3D introduced Hyper FFF™ technology, a cutting-edge application developed from the Klipper open-source project, which offers increased FFF 3D printing yield rates without compromising the quality of printed parts. Raise3D started by bringing an upgrade for the Pro3 Series to the market, which is already being used by thousands of customers worldwide. The promise, however, was to extend the benefits of Hyper FFF™ to the whole Raise3D portfolio, and hence bring additional value to all existing Raise3D’s customers.

The commitment from Raise3D is to push the adoption of FFF 3D printing into Manufacturing by unlocking the full potential of 3D printing capabilities for our customers. Making Hyper FFF™ the new print speed standard is Raise3D’s current objective, but more innovative and disruptive solutions are in the pipeline for the next few years.

Raise3D is now fulfilling the promise by making Level one (L1) Hyper FFF™ available to Pro2 Series users, for free, and it’s only required a firmware update. Raise3D invites its customers to register here for the Hyper Speed Open-Test and experience the L1 Hyper Speed on their Pro2 Series 3D printer. The Open-Test period is open to all Customers who wish to participate, share their feedback with Raise3D, and start benefiting from Hyper FFF™.

During the Open-Test period, Raise3D wants to identify and correct any minor bugs that may not have appeared during the previous testing stages, so that a final version of the firmware can be released.

Participants in the Open-Test may, as previously stated, encounter some bugs, but there I is no need to worry about any negative impact on the hardware.

With the beginning of the Open-Test period, and to ensure Pro2 Series keep being one of the most competitive 3D printers in the Professional segment, Raise3D has also decided to revise the recommended retail prices of Pro2 Series printers. The prices for the US and EU are listed below, while in other territories, prices may differ.

The revised price shall also make it easier for those seeking to buy the Pro2, which is out of stock in many territories, to purchase instead the Pro2 Plus for just about 15% more than the previous price.

Materials and printing speed

The upgrade will support seven filaments, including Hyper Speed ABS, Hyper Speed PLA, Premium ABS, Premium PLA, Premium PETG, Premium ASA, and Premium PC. Each filament will come with two sets of printing templates (High Quality and Standard), and the upgrade will support 0.4mm diameter nozzles. The ideaMaker 4.4.1 Alpha update includes the addition of Pro2 Series printers, along with seven new adapted filaments and corresponding templates for the Pro2 Series Hyper Speed mode.

More Hyper Speed filaments, like PETG, PC, ASA, ESD-safe, will be released later this year. The first filament in the Hyper Core line will also launch during 2023; starting with PPA CF, a carbon fiber-reinforced composite filament with superior heat resistance, strength, and stiffness.

When using Raise3D’s Hyper Speed materials, Pro2 Series printers can achieve level 1 printing speeds which mean speed of up to 150mm/s and a maximum acceleration of 5,000mm/s². In comparison, the Pro3 Series printers reaches level 2 printing speeds thanks to the additional hardware upgrade.

How to have access to the Open-Test

Customers who are willing to participate in the Open-Test will be asked to enter their email address, complete a questionnaire, and activate the upgrade by entering the corresponding serial number of their Pro2 Series printers. Once the activation is completed, customers will receive an email with instructions on how to install the firmware upgrade. Please note that the activation email will be sent in batches, and you may not receive it immediately.

Raise3D’s next steps in the Hyper FFF™ adoption

With the launch of Hyper FFF™ for Pro2 Series, Raise3D will have made available this disruptive technology for the Pro3 and Pro2 Series of printers.

In Q2’23, Raise3D plans to also start an Open-Test for L1 Hyper FFF™ for E2 and E2CF printers, which will also later be made available for free.
